The Brass Syllabus focuses on the enjoyment of performing, whilst maintaining a formal Technical Work section for each instrument. The performance of a Study and three pieces in baroque/classical, romantic and modern periods from the standard repertoire completes the programme. Preparatory Levels 1 and 2 require two pieces only (own choice) plus Technical Work.
ICME also offers the Trumpet Concerto Syllabus, in three grade levels - Early, Intermediate and Advanced. This syllabus requires a movement or movements of a concerto and may be played with either orchestral or piano accompaniment. It especially suits the dedicated student who responds well to a challenge.
The Brass Syllabus is an excellent preparation for specialist music school scholarships and provides sound foundations for students considering tertiary music study.
Entire Syllabus requirements for your selected grade, comprising Pieces and Technical Work listings will be sent by email within 24 hours of payment. Individual grade levels may be determined by viewing the Sample Syllabi Pieces page.
