The piano accordion is currently experiencing a resurgence of interest after years of neglect. Accordingly, ICME offers two major syllabi for this instrument – Classical Piano Accordion and Visionary Piano Accordion.
Classical Piano Accordion is a comprehensive syllabus in which each grade requires four pieces (in both serious and lighter vein) and a highly structured Technical Work section. Preparatory Levels 1 and 2 require two pieces only (own choice) plus Technical Work.
Visionary Piano Accordion also features a sound technical component, but focuses purely on the enjoyment of the instrument. This syllabus includes a wide variety of styles including pop and movie themes. Two pieces are required, with an own choice option.
