Visionary Singing is dedicated to the pure enjoyment of singing for recreation. Its repertoire, catering for assorted voice types, includes a wide range of musical styles - pop, songs from musical theatre and movies, traditional folk songs, ballads and parlour songs. While favourite classical art songs and operetta are generously represented, grand opera is beyond the scope and objectives of this syllabus. Two songs are required, with an own choice option. There is a Technical Work component appropriate to each grade level.
Visionary Singing may be viewed as excellent training in performance skills and as ideal preparation for school music scholarships.
Individual grade levels may be determined by viewing the Sample Syllabi Pieces page. Entire Syllabus requirements for your selected grade will be sent by email within 24 hours of payment.
ICME is highly aware of the vocal fatigue that can occur in the training of developing voices. It is therefore strongly advised that perspicacious consideration be given to the age and maturity of the candidate in relation to both the style of singing and the technical difficulty of the songs presented for examination.
The following age guidelines may be viewed as a general recommendation:

Grades 5- 7: age 14 and above
Grades 8-10: age 17 and above
Grades 11-12: age 18 and above
